Our Story

I wanted to give you, our friends a little context to what Ewin's Dry Goods is all about.  Ewin is my grandfather (boy in the back). He was born in rural Appalachia and as a young boy grew up farming.  His father worked for the railroad, farmed, and was partner in a dry goods store in late 1800s.  When Ewin was around the age of 9 the family farm was bought and flooded by TVA and is now under Norris Lake.  The family made the 50 mile trek over Joppa mountain with Ox and wagon to their new farm located near Cherokee Dam another TVA project.

This is the farm where I grew up and the extended family lives.  Ewin's Dry Goods is built on the principles that I witnessed in my grandfather Ewin and folks of his generation.

What we are about.

Ewin's Dry Goods is driven by principles from our past.  We carry the highest quality items made by artisan-craftsmen that when properly cared for will become family heirlooms.  We are interested in items that are highly valued and are fairly priced.  We are most concerned in giving high quality items that are not disposable a position in our current marketplace.  80% of the items we carry are produced in the U.S., but that is not a prerequisite for us.  We are focused on how well something is crafted and it's usefulness.  We will be adding and removing products as we continue to hone the exact collections that we wish to carry and that customers are the most interested in.

Pricing, Service, & Trust

As we have hinted we are not concerned with being necessarily the cheapest place to find a product, but rather offering items at a fair price backed with our "Supreme Service."  This is our history.  We are committed to the fact that our customers must be able to trust us.  We want to usher in the renewing of our grandparent's business practices where the customer would be respected and the merchant could be trusted.  Our Guarantee states this as clearly as we know how.  We are not perfect and mistakes will happen, but we will make it right. . .and that's our word.

Your business is Our Honor.
